Fun Town Pizza and Pasta Buffet is conveniently located in the Fun Town section of the park, to the left of the Fun Town Theater. Now, since we have a big family to feed we are always on the lookout for the best bang for our buck! So, when we heard that this centrally located restaurant was a park favorite and reasonably priced we couldn’t wait to try it out.
So just how did it go?
Since, it was raining we decided to stay dry and head to Fun Town to watch a 3D movie and then grab some lunch. The kids eyes lit up when they saw the sign that read Pasta and Pizza Buffet! Now, we have 6 children all of whom have a hearty appetites, so we were hoping that Fun Town Pizza and Pasta would be able to fill them up. Let me tell you the line was not extremely long when we got there it was maybe a 5-10 minute wait before we were seated. Once inside it wasn’t a bit crowded. The place smelled yummy! We were hoping the food tasted as yummy as it smelled. And guess what? It was so good!
After finding a great seat next to the window so that we could enjoy the park view. We suggest if you go on a nice sunny day that you take advantage of the outside dining space so you can overlook the miniature Lego cities, so while you enjoy your lunch you can see Vegas, NYC, St. Augustine, San Fransisco, and other legendary sites like rockets launching from Cape Kennedy, cars racing at Daytona Speedway, and divers scouring the depths for the treasure of the Spanish Galleon.
Now, it was time to explore the much awaited buffet line. Laid out on the buffet line were a variety of pizzas for you to choose from – such as plain cheese or pepperoni, or for the more adventurous eater, the Hawaiian combination of pineapple, supreme and ham. I would have to say that the pizza itself had good chewy crust, not too much sauce and lots of cheese.
That alone is any kids’ dream but just in case that doesn’t fill you up enough, you can also have your choice of pasta dishes from the pasta bar. They had pennie pasta along with marinara and white sauce. They also had wonderfully delicious garlic bread pizza. (I couldn’t get enough of it)
But, don’t worry; if you feel like you are lacking vegetables, the restaurant also has a salad bar that compliments the pizza and pasta well.I was really impressed by the salad bar, which although small and limited in offerings, they have very fresh lettuce & other vegetables. Pineapple was offered, and that surprised me a little, but they also had a minced bell pepper & red onion blend that seemed to be lightly seasoned. The best part about it is that you can make as many trips as you can which you great because you’ll need energy to tackle the rest of the park! (Click here to check out our 5 tips to enjoy LEGOLAND)
Another plus to Fun Town Pizza and Pasta Buffet is that due to the popularity, you can be sure that the food is replenished quickly and often. Every time we went for another serving they were putting out fresh pizza and pasta. It really was great to be eating freshly made food. But don’t forget to save room for dessert! They have several delectable pastries to choose from! You really don’t want to miss your chance to try them!
The overall restaurant cleanliness was great! The staff was polite and helpful as well.
