As the countries most populous county, it’s safe to say that Los Angeles County has a lot of offer. There’s a reason why almost 10 million people choose to live here. Despite being one of the original California counties, its population is bigger than 40 of the US states! But stats aside, it’s also an incredible destination that you should aim to visit right here on American soil. It’s true that California has its draws, but it’s Los Angeles County that has a wealth on offer for families in particular. So if you’re looking for somewhere that the kids will love, with a wide range of different sites to take in and activities to do, Los Angeles County could be it.
Visit Universal Studios Hollywood
Of course, you’re not going to want to come all the way out to LA and not see the studios. Tucked to the east of the Hollywood hills, Universal Studios Hollywood will provide your family with a lot of fun. Part movie studio, part amusement park, the kids will love to feel as if they’ve stepped right into their favorite movie. Right now, there’s Despicable Me, Jurassic Park, The Simpsons and even Harry Potter on offer. So if your kids love movies and you want to make them feel magical, a visit to the studios is a must.
See The Santa Monica Pier
Heading further downtown, you’ll find the coastal city of Santa Monica. If you want a bit of a laid-back vacation with stunning sea views and a lot of beachside fun, this is the place to be. But best of all, the kids are going to love the Santa Monica Pier. Again, you’ll all be in for a wild ride, because here you’ll find the Pacific Park amusements, including the infamous ferris wheel, the incredible Looff Hippodrome Carousel, and the Pier Aquarium too.
After spending a little time on the coast, you might want to consider traveling upstate a little. Specifically to Lancaster. Found in the Antelope Valley of the Mojave Desert, it’s a change of pace. Here, you’ll grab yourself a perfect base such as the Best Western Plus Desert Poppy Inn and get ready to explore. The little ones will love the display of Native American artifacts at the Antelope Valley Museum, and the Rural Museum too.
Go To A Lakers Game
While in Los Angeles County, you’re definitely going to want to see a Lakers game, right? Get yourselves on over to the STAPLES Center and enjoy a sporting day out. With your Lakers shirts on and as many snacks as you can carry, you know the kids will have an incredible time.
Have you ever been to LA? What was your favorite spot to visit?
